After high school I attended the University of Minnesota Morris and graduated with a degree in Social Science with an emphasis in history, and Secondary Education. During the last year of my undergraduate degree I lived in Australia and finished by student teaching at Newcomb Secondary College in New Castle. Also during this time I went back to school at Southwest Minnesota State University and earned a masters of Educational Leadership. In the fall of 2016 I started teaching high school Social Studies at NRHEG.

I’m also the Junior High and Senior High Knowledge Bowl Coach as well as the coordinator for two educational trips the school offers. Washington DC (next trip April 2020), and Europe (next trip Switzerland, Austria, and Germany June 2019).
I live in New Richland with my husband and our three daughters.

Brian Belcourt bbelcourt@nrheg.k12.mn.us
Hi, my name is Mr. Belcourt! I am a social studies teacher at NRHEG, where I will be teaching a wide range of subjects within the social studies discipline. The 2023-2024 school year is my first year in New Richland, and also my first year as a teacher since graduating from Mankato State University, Mankato in the Spring of 2023. Aside from teaching in New Richland, I am also a Junior High & Varsity assistant football coach, and I am also a member of the track and field staff in the Spring.
Who am I: Growing up and graduating high school in St. Clair Minnesota, I am very familiar with the area. While in high school, I played both football and threw shot put and discus. Aside from sports, I also participated in band, jazz band, and pep band. To this day, I am still a big sports fan, especially Minnesota sports teams like the Vikings, Twins, and Wild.
